Assembled from voice, instrument, and code.
The writing and the music are not separate practices. They are the same investigation carried out in different materials. The question underneath both: what does it mean to hold something together when the coherence has to be made.
Essays, fiction, prose, and poetry at the intersection of philosophy and testimony. No resolution for comfort.
→ WorksVoice, instrument, and code taken apart and rebuilt into something that accumulates without resolving.
→ ReleasesMusQueToe is a writer, experimental vocal artist, and composer based in South Carolina. The work spans essays, fiction, poetry, and sound. Four forms, one inquiry. What it costs to remain conscious. What gets built from what breaks.
The essay practice engages absurdism, Jungian depth psychology, and the lived experience of fracture and reconstruction. The fiction moves the same questions into genre and finds different pressure points. The music extends the instinct further: voice as raw material, subjected to the same editorial rigor as prose, fragmented and rebuilt until it tells the truth in ways straight speech won't.
Philosophical grounding in Camus, Jung, Rinzai Zen, and Stoicism runs through all of it, as operative framework, not decoration.
I work with what breaks. Voice that has been taken apart. Sentences that don't close. Sound that accumulates without resolution.
The music and the writing are not separate practices. They are the same investigation carried out in different materials. The question underneath both: what does it mean to hold something together when the coherence is not given, it has to be made. Every piece is an answer to that question that refuses to settle.
I'm interested in the moment after fragmentation. Not the fragment itself. The reconstruction. The thing that gets built from what's left.
Essays, fiction, poetry, and prose that work as philosophy and testimony simultaneously. The same questions, carried across different forms.
Essay Collection
Ten essays engaging absurdism, Jungian depth psychology, and the experience of reconstruction after prolonged fracture. The essays work as philosophy and as confession simultaneously. Frameworks tested against actual crisis, not applied to it.
For readers the self-help section failed. For readers academic philosophy talked past.
Novelette
Franco, Batista, and the Beatles walk into a mind control plot. What follows moves between dark comedy and genuine menace. History as farce, power as pathology, and a question underneath the absurdity that refuses to stay funny.
Novel
Dystopian noir. A world designed to process people into units, and the cost of remaining conscious inside it. The same inquiry as the essays, dressed differently.
Poetry
Fragments in verse. The same investigation as the prose, compression as a different kind of pressure.
Substack
Dispatches, releases, and fragments that wouldn't stay quiet. Essays, process notes, and work in progress as it surfaces.
→ Subscribe at SubstackProcessed voice, found sound, and code assembled into something that resists the familiar. The music is made from voice, not voice as melody, but voice as material.

theMusQueToe@gmail.comFragmentation and reconstruction as formal and philosophical methods. The absurd as lived condition, not literary posture. Voice as both instrument and evidence. Memory, its distortions, and what survives them. A live set that occupies the space between performance and installation.
